Kit Private
Would building my own kit airplane cut down on costs of renting if I wanted to get my license?
(Both private and commercial licenses.) It’s probably a silly idea, but I’m just wondering.
No, any kit plane will cost a lot more than renting if you only plan on using it to get your license, in the long run it can be cheaper if you plan on renting aircraft after you get your license though, just remember that kit planes are still not that cheap, and that they can take years to complete. They also require a lot of skill to build.
